We have published a video on the parish YouTube channel of some of the music from Vespers this evening. The music is the Magnificat, sung to a plainchant psalm tone.
Vespers is part of the daily prayer of the church and is prayed by priests, religious and laypeople both publicly and privately. The service lasts around 30 minutes and is a time for quiet reflection. The service consists of psalms, a canticle and the Magnificat, along with a short reading and prayers. At Immaculate Heart, we follow Vespers with Benediction, where the congregation is blessed with the Blessed Sacrament.
Vespers is a very peaceful and prayerful way to round off your Sunday – why not come along?
