Parish Bulletin – 4th September

Dear Parishioner/Friend of the Parish,

Our collective care from the poor and the disadvantaged lies at the very heart of our identity as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. As so, impelled by the love of Christ for the poor, I invite the whole parish to support our next major initiative on their behalf: a meal and an evening of entertainment for the men of Bellgrove Hostel, Gallowgate, Glasgow.

To help raise the funds necessary we will have a social evening fundraiser on Friday 9th September followed by the men’s meal itself on Saturday 18th September.

The social evening on Friday 9th September will start at 7.30pm and will feature live music, buffet supper, raffle and bingo. Tickets will be priced £6.

The men’s meal the following week will start at 7pm. In addition to the fundraising social, individual donations may be given at any time between now and the 18th September. Money raised so far totals £30.

God bless you in all your efforts to help the poor of our city.

Fr Morris, Parish Priest

Announcements

Legion of Mary Parish Visitation: From Saturday 27th August until Saturday 3rd September. We thank most sincerely the 9 members of the Legion of Mary from Ireland who last week visited 1,996 homes in our parish, distributed 1,480 Miraculous Medals, spoke to over 900 people about the faith, and invited 174 lapsed families back to the practise of the Catholic faith. All 9 Legion members are a credit to the parishes to which they belong and we are in their spiritual debt. They all worked very hard on behalf of our parish last week. Please remember them in your prayers.
