Announcements

Many thanks to Fr. Hurley and Fr. Dunn for offering the midweek Masses this coming week, while Fr. Morris is on holiday this week. A word of additional thanks to Fr. Hurley for offering the 9.30am Mass this Sunday and last, while Fr. Morris was offering the Latin Mass at Sacred Heart Bridgeton.

An up to date Gift Aid claim will soon be submitted to the Archdiocese, which will bring approximately £4600 to the parish. Thanks to Connie, Fraser and Jane for their work.

Ordination to the Priesthood: Deacon Ninian Doohan (also known as Brother Ninian) has been a regular visitor at the Latin Mass in Immaculate Heart over the last two years. Brother Ninian will be ordained on August 15th in Dundee. He will offer a Solemn High Mass in Immaculate Heart on Saturday 20th August at 12pm. If you would like to contribute towards a gift for Brother Ninian, please give your donation to Fr. Morris over the next few weeks.

The collection for the upkeep of the parish minibus have raised £413.

Sponsor the weekly sanctuary lamps in memory of a deceased relative or friend, or for some other prayer intention. Give £5 and intention to John or Fr Morris.

To sponsor the church flowers, please give £10 or more plus your intention to Agnes or Irene.

Fundraising

The next Bingo Nights will be on 10th August, 14th September and 12th October, all starting at 7.30pm

The next Sale of Work will take place on Saturday 3rd September, from 11am until 1.30pm. Donations of unwanted gifts, tombola prizes and home baking will be gratefully received.

Community

The Parish Food Store has food available for those who need a helping hand. Speak to Fr Morris if you know of someone in need. We have very little food left. Please bring your donations to church or to the chapel house. A list of suggested items can be found here.

The next soup run will take place on Saturday 3rd September. Donations of men’s clothing, sandwiches, fruit, chocolate and cigarettes are needed.
