Upcoming Events

Please note that Vespers & Benediction is on this evening at 6.30pm. Apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced by the short-notice cancellation of Benediction last Sunday.

Confession is available before and after all masses and services.

Wednesday of this week is the feast of St Peter & St Paul and is a holyday of obligation. Masses at 6.30pm (vigil), 9.30am, 12.30pm (sung Latin mass) & 7pm. Mass will also be offered by Fr Dunn at Glasgow Caledonian University in the William Harley Building across from Buchanan Bus Station at 12 noon, at which the public are welcome.

The next monthly requiem mass for the parish dead and our deceased relatives and friends will be offered on Thursday 30th June at 9.30am.

The next soup run will take place on Saturday 2nd July. Donations of men’s clothing, sandwiches, fruit, chocolate and cigarettes are needed.

Announcements

Retiring collection next Sunday for the upkeep of the parish minibus. The minibus is being given an MOT and service this week. It was taxed last week, and its insurance is due on 16th July. Please give generously to the minibus collection next Sunday, 3rd July.

Ordination to the Priesthood: Deacon Ninian Doohan (also known as Brother Ninian) has been a regular visitor at the Latin Mass in Immaculate Heart over the last two years. Brother Ninian will be ordained on August 15th in Dundee. He will offer two masses in Immaculate Heart the following week.

Sponsor the weekly sanctuary lamps in memory of a deceased relative or friend, or for some other prayer intention. Give £5 and intention to Irene or Fr Morris.

To sponsor the church flowers, please give £10 or more plus your intention to Agnes or Irene.

Free DVDs of this year’s Lenten talks are available from the Sacristy. Please come and help yourself. This year’s topics were:

Fundraising

Sincere thanks to all who have contributed votive candles and paper for printing. For the time being we have enough paper, but we are still in need of votive candles.

Parish lotto – update next week.

The sale of work went very well on Saturday 18th June. The total monies raised will be available soon. Sincere thanks to all who contributed in any way to the success of the sale.

Community

The Parish Food Store has food available for those who need a helping hand. Speak to Fr Morris if you know of someone in need. We are in need of food donations. We continue to be grateful to the owners of Drumbottie Stores for their regular donations of food for our Parish Food Store.
