I am yet to be convinced that the Almighty is a Celtic fan, but the fact that it hasn’t rained in Glasgow since Brendan Rodgers became manager is at least worthy of note. Speaking of good weather, it may be that you are intending to travel abroad or at least a goodly distance for your summer holidays, so please remember… there is a blessing for that! It’s called the “Blessing Before Travel” and it is in the Roman ritual of prayers. All you have to do is ask and I will do it for you.
We have the next of our sales of work this Saturday, 18th June, from 11am until roughly 1.30pm, so please spread the word. If you can manage to come along, please do. Just think of that great home baking if you need any extra persuading.
Our converts class is still meeting every Tuesday at 1.30pm, and if you are interested in learning more about your faith, you are welcome to come along. It will break for the summer soon and resume later in the year. Do you know of someone who would like to become Catholic? Please let me know.
More good news – with the support of the whole parish, we fed nearly 20 needy people last week from the parish food store. Please keep up the kind donations. We continue to be grateful to the owners of Drumbottie Stores for their regular donations of food for the parish food store.
Many thanks to the parish fundraising team and the patrons of last week’s bingo, which raised £122 for parish funds.
Parish lotto – We have a winner! Congratulations to Anonymous who scooped £435!! See the parish noticeboard for winning numbers.
