Parish Bulletin – 1st January

Fr. Morris wishes everyone a very merry Christmas and a spiritually fruitful new year. He wishes to thank most sincerely everyone who sent him Christmas cards, gifts, and good wishes.

Please return St. Nicholas Care Fund Advent alms boxes by Monday 16th January 2017.

Some new additions to the parish schedule:

  • Rosary on Fridays at 6.30pm followed by confession until 7.30pm.
  • Traditional Latin Mass on Fridays at 12.30pm.

Announcements

Please note that Vespers (evening prayer) & Benediction is on this evening at 5pm. This will be an opportunity to receive a plenary indulgence by taking part in the “Veni Creator” which will be sung at 5pm just before Vespers begins. To receive the plenary indulgence, confession, prayers for the Pope, and total hatred for all past sins must be achieved along with the singing of the “Veni Creator”.

The next St Peregrine Mass, Novena, Anointing and Veneration of the Relic will take place on Monday 16th January at 7pm.

Sponsor the weekly sanctuary lamps in memory of a deceased relative or friend, or for some other prayer intention. Give £5 and intention to John or Fr Morris.

To sponsor the church flowers please give £10 or more plus your intention to Agnes. Also, donations for flowers for the Christmas season are being sought and will be gratefully received. The cost of this year’s Christmas flowers so far is £270. Please give your donation to Agnes.

Community

The next soup run will take place on Saturday 7th January. Donations of men’s clothing, sandwiches, fruit, chocolate and cigarettes are needed.

The Parish Food Store is in need of your help. The Food Store helped to feed 13 people last week. Please bring your donations to the box in the church or to the chapel house. A list of suggested items can be found here.
